OptimizeIt: Core $79 · Plus $159 · Pro $239 per month (annual; +25% if monthly) · 2/4/6 seats included · $25 extra seat · multi-location on all paid plans · moving CRM starts at Core (Starter tier is single-industry solo only and not available for moving) · SmartMoving: Essential $299/mo + Growth $399/mo (base) + per-user fees · single-location only
Who is each for
We tell you when SmartMoving is the right call. Most platform decisions come down to fit, not features.
Pick SmartMoving if you...
- •Run a single-location moving company with a mature sales pipeline you don't want to disrupt
- •Have a sales-heavy operation that benefits from SmartMoving's lead-routing depth
- •Value an established CRM with the strongest reputation rating in the category (4.9/5 across 143 reviews on Capterra)
- •Are fine with sales-led pricing and per-user billing that scales with your office headcount
- •Don't yet need a voice agent that books jobs autonomously after hours (Smart Scout qualifies and quotes, then hands to your team)
- •Will stay single-location for the foreseeable future
Pick OptimizeIt if you...
- Want the 24/7 AI Voice Agent included on Pro at $239/mo annual ($299 monthly) with 6,000 AI credits and 300 voice min/mo, answering and booking jobs autonomously (not a paid add-on that qualifies leads only)
- Want native AI photo-to-cube-sheet in the quoting flow, with FMCSA-compliant binding language baked in
- Plan to expand into adjacent service lines (storage, junk removal, packing, labor-only) without a second platform
- Need multi-location support
- Prefer published pricing for movers ($79 / $159 / $239 per month annual; $99/$199/$299 monthly) over sales-led quotes
- Run a moving operation under $5M revenue with 1-15 office staff and crew
Run both if...
You run a high-volume moving operation with a deep, well-trained SmartMoving sales pipeline AND have adjacent business lines (storage, junk, packing, designer services) that need a unified operating system. SmartMoving handles the moving sales motion; OptimizeIt covers the adjacent lines and operational AI layer. Most moving operators consolidate to one platform; this is the exception.

How OptimizeIt is different from SmartMoving
Built by a 15-year moving operator, not a software founder
OptimizeIt was built by Lucas Cannon, who ran 5 Star Moving in El Cerrito, California for 15 years before founding the company. Every product decision is shaped by his daily problem set: customers calling at 7pm and going to voicemail, photo-based quote requests that took 45 minutes to turn around, dispatch boards that had to be rebuilt every time a job ran long, BOLs that crews re-keyed by hand at the end of every move, and CRM software that was built for software buyers, not moving operators.
Three principles came out of those 15 years that shape every moving capability we ship:
- 1.The AI has to do moving work, not just describe it.Photo-to-cube-sheet returns a priced binding quote with FMCSA disclosure language injected, ready to send. The 24/7 Voice Agent answers, walks an inventory, books the move, and captures a deposit. The Digital Bill of Lading auto-generates from the job (customer, inventory, valuation election, charges, signatures) so the foreman is not re-keying anything at the end of a 10-hour move.
- 2.The hourly billing engine has to be right the first time, every time.Crew-size rates from 1 to 10 movers, OT thresholds, configurable lunch policy, weekend and holiday premiums, portal-to-portal or door-to-door conventions. Generic field-service tools treat this as "hourly plus extras." OptimizeIt was built around this engine first; the rest of the platform sits on top of it.
- 3.Pricing has to be legible to a working operator.Published $79 / $159 / $239 per month on annual billing (or $99 / $199 / $299 monthly) for movers, the same Core, Plus, and Pro plans used across all 50+ verticals. 2 to 6 seats included, extras a flat $25/mo. No quote-based gate. No sales call to find out what it costs.

Self-serve onboarding, no implementation fee.

Is OptimizeIt a true SmartMoving alternative or just a quoting tool?+
OptimizeIt is a full operating system, not just a quoting tool. It handles the same workflow SmartMoving does (CRM, pipeline, quoting, dispatch, hourly billing engine, FMCSA-compliant Bill of Lading, storage-in-transit, payments, payroll, customer portal) plus AI capabilities SmartMoving does not have natively (autonomous photo-based AI quoting, 24/7 AI Voice Agent that books and takes deposits, smart SMS auto-reply). Moving CRM pricing is $79/$159/$239 per month annual ($99/$199/$299 monthly), with 2/4/6 seats included and extras at a flat $25/mo.
Does Smart Scout actually book jobs and take deposits?+
No. SmartMoving's Smart Scout product page describes Smart Scout as building the estimate "ready for your team to confirm." Smart Scout qualifies the lead and generates a quote; final booking and deposit collection still require a human. OptimizeIt's AI Voice Agent closes the booking and captures the deposit on the same call. If 24/7 autonomous booking is what you need, Smart Scout does not solve for it on its own.
How does SmartMoving's Capterra rating compare?+
SmartMoving holds a 4.9/5 on Capterra across 143 reviews, one of the strongest ratings in the moving CRM category. They also hit the Inc. 5000 list in 2024 (only moving software that year per Capterra category data). It is a respected platform with a strong reputation. The trade-off operators should weight separately from the star rating is the per-user pricing model, the single-location limitation, and the absence of native AI photo quoting and an autonomous-booking voice agent.
What if I outgrow OptimizeIt?+
If you need a single-location platform with the most mature sales-pipeline depth in the moving category, SmartMoving is worth evaluating. If you need an enterprise field-service platform with multi-location reporting and deep Salesforce / NetSuite integration, ServiceTitan is the category leader. We will tell you when you are at that scale and help you transition.
Can I migrate my data from SmartMoving to OptimizeIt?+
CSV export-to-import is supported for customer records, jobs, and historical revenue. White-glove migration assistance is included on paid plans for transitions from Jobber and Housecall Pro per our pricing page. For other source platforms, CSV-to-import is the default; contact sales for white-glove scoping. For SmartMoving → OptimizeIt, the default path is CSV export-to-import. For a fully managed migration, contact sales — we can scope white-glove support based on your data volume and pricing rule complexity.
Does SmartMoving include AI photo-to-cube-sheet estimating?+
No. SmartMoving has no computer vision estimating in 2026 per Virtual Estimate's 2026 review. Smart Scout (their AI product) is a phone-qualification layer, not a vision system. OptimizeIt accepts customer photos and returns a priced cube sheet with FMCSA-compliant binding language in under 60 seconds.
Can I run multiple branches on SmartMoving?+
Not on a single account. Per Elromco's competitor comparison, SmartMoving is single-location only. Operators expanding to a second branch typically migrate or run parallel instances. OptimizeIt supports multi-location natively.
Who is OptimizeIt NOT a fit for?+
Three operator profiles where SmartMoving is the better choice:
-
Sales-heavy single-location moving operations with mature SmartMoving workflows. SmartMoving's sales-pipeline depth, lead-routing automation, and 4.9/5 reputation are the right tools for that motion. Switching costs are not worth the AI gain at small office scale.
-
Operators who specifically need SmartMoving's marketing-automation depth (Smart Marketing). OptimizeIt's marketing automation is lighter today.
-
Operators who require an established platform with multi-year customer track record. OptimizeIt launched June 2026. SmartMoving has six years of operator references and a published Inc. 5000 listing.
If any of those describe you, SmartMoving is the right call. We would rather you find that out on this page than after a free trial.
